Meet Bola, Buaya and Palaaway

Here they are: the three little kittens. We decided to give them Tagalog names and are trying to get used to them. If they prove to be too difficult, we will go with simpler names, or just call them by their English names. Maybe they'll become bilingual...

Bola (pronounced Boo-lah with a strong emphasis on the lah): it means Bubble because he has had a bubble tummy ever since we took him home with us.

Buaya (pronounced Bwi-ya): it means gator because when she was tiny, her mew sounded just like a baby alligator.

Palaaway (pronounced Pala-ew-why): it means trouble-maker because he is quite feisty and likes to wrestle with the other two.

Bola is so cute. He used to be the sweetest little one in the bunch and when he does settle down, he purrs instantly and falls fast asleep. He likes to cuddle under blankets and be really cozy. But, he's very playful now and loves to roughhouse with his brother.

Poor little Buaya took a tumble of some sort and ended up with a swollen shoulder. We took her in and she had to have a cast put on. It's off now, but it's still very swollen and she's got to be separated from her two rascally brothers. She is quite sweet and hates to be immobile. She limps around and tries to play as best she can, but you can tell she's hurting a bit. She was the leader of the group of siblings at first, but she's fallen behind due to her injury.

Palaaway is the other brother, who, from the very beginning, was the trouble-starter. He's playful, too, but also can be coaxed to sleep with some loving strokes.

All three have huge appetites and go in for their first de-worming appointments on Sunday. We are proud parents: they all know how to drink water on their own, can eat dry food with milk and wet food on their own and can thankfully use the litter box for #! and #2. Woohoo!!! They are quite a handful, but also a real joy. We love coming home and cuddling with them. Here are some more photos of the little ones (who are actually growing and gaining weight like crazy!):
